The demolition and reconstruction project, complemented by an expansion of the former retirement home in Lavis, is an urban regeneration project aimed at restoring a shared space for the school community. The project area is located in the center of the municipality of Lavis. The complex occupies an area with a substantially regular geometric shape. The project involves demolishing the current building to make way for a new structure to house a cafeteria and teaching spaces.

In conjunction with the construction of the new school cafeteria and new teaching spaces, the connecting routes between the school, the swimming pool, and the new building are being streamlined. The proximity of these buildings, and the oratory on the west side, creates a continuous flow of people, making
the project site a hub for the entire area. The routes between the road and the swimming pool and between the school and the cafeteria are therefore separated and made clearer, ensuring proper flow across the site. The new building extends over two levels above ground, clearly separating the dynamic areas from those intended for classroom teaching.
The ground floor houses the school cafeteria service, consisting of a professional kitchen, sized according to the strictest HACCP standards and the guidelines of the Comunità Rotaliana, the organization that will manage meal preparation and distribution, and a large dining hall with approximately 190 seats. The dining hall is designed as a flexible and transparent space, where mealtimes take on an educational and socializing role, immersed in an environment of
high sensory comfort. The cafeteria can be accessed both from the south side, overlooking Via A. De Gasperi, via the stairwell, and from the north side, towards the "Don Giuseppe Grazioli" primary school, via the creation of the new passageway between the existing courtyard and the new courtyard outside the cafeteria.
