The facility is composed of six units, each designed to accommodate a specific number of residents, with a particular focus on those with Alzheimer's disease, for whom eight spaces have been reserved. This division allows for personalized and targeted care, which is essential for improving the residents' quality of life. A crucial aspect of the design is the elimination of architectural barriers. The spaces were designed to be easily accessible to everyone, including those with limited mobility. Elements such as the bar counter were designed on two levels, facilitating interaction and access for all guests.
The nursing home was designed taking into account current safety regulations, including earthquake-resistance. The technological systems were integrated to ensure not only functionality but also the building's energy sustainability. The common areas were designed to encourage socialization and recreational activities. In short, the nursing home at Via Gleno 49 in Bergamo is an example of modern and functional architecture, designed to meet the specific needs of its users. The combination of accessibility, comfort, sustainability, and safety makes this facility an ideal place for the care and assistance of the elderly.
